Anantara Plaza
★★—Opened in 2023 alongside the seafront Jardins Albert Ier, Anantara splices the style of an Asian spa with a tech zillionaire’s private escape. Each light-filled room and suite, most with a magnificent Mediterranean view, is styled in a 1920s themed décor. There's an ultra-modern basement spa too, with hamman, massage suites, and enough Technogym equipment to tone the entire French soccer squad. Arrive hungry. Because the restaurant SEEN (which looks like a UFO has landed on the top floor of the hotel) has upgraded Niçois classics like petits farcis stuffed vegetables (served here atop an unctuous marrow bone) and rolls locally-caught seafood into sushi. Breakfast is also served in this modernistic location. At the very least stop in for a cocktail. The views are, in a word, epic.
