The plaque outside identifies this parish church as the town's former cathedral with a construction/renovation history spanning the 6th to the 18th centuries. It is dedicated to St. Anselm who, according to legend, was Nin's first bishop and also one of Christ's early disciples. The church's side chapel is the only remaining part of the original church. The treasury next to the church has just over two dozen exhibits, most of which are gold. The treasury also contains a gold reliquary in the shape of a hand that is said to contain St. Anselm's shoulder bone.
