This winery is the oldest producer of pinot noir in Oregon and was responsible for putting Oregon on the international wine map when its 1975 pinot noir won major competitions in France in 1979 and 1980. Pinot noirs here are done in a Burgundian style and are often held back for years before they're released, making this a good place to sample old vintages. Eyrie was also the first vineyard in America to produce pinot gris, which has since become one of Oregon’s top white wines.
