SeaWind Landing Country Inn
This lovely, 8-hectare (20-acre) oceanfront compound in the historic Acadian village of Charlos Cove, is half-way between Halifax and the Cabot Trail, along the Marine Drive, one of the province's most scenic coastal routes. Bordered on three sides by water, it’s exactly the type of place one hopes to find in an isolated area such as this—the hospitality is genuine and the owners have smartly made the most of the superb natural surroundings. The property has three private sand beaches, and coastal boat tours and picnic lunches can be arranged for an extra charge. Some of the guest rooms are located in the handsome, 130-year-old home, which has been tastefully modernized. The rest are in a more recent outbuilding, whose rooms have a whitewashed brightness, terrific peninsula and ocean views, and double Jacuzzis. For an extra fee, the inn also serves excellent home-made breakfasts and dinners, featuring local products and wines.
