The minimalist table settings—triangular plates, squares-within-squares appetizer platters—of this second-story gazebo restaurant at the Mystic Ridge condo resort hint that there will be some delightful modern twists to the Caribbean cuisine. The grilled strip loin is brushed in an aged balsamic and Blue Mountain coffee demi-glaze; the curry goat comes with sweet potato pie and garlic mint roti; there’s a conch lasagna with a spicy tomato papaya cream. Among the build-your-own pizza topping options are ackee, callaloo, and jerk sausage. The indecisive can get a jerk platter with jerk chicken, jerk pork, and jerk sausage served with plantain. All this and surprisingly reasonable prices (for downtown in a resort town) make June Plum an excellent choice for Ocho Rios.
