This resort, whose name means the "land of snow," sits at the foot of Balwangsan. It is considered one of the best slopes in the country because the mountain has naturally occurring slopes of varying inclines. Having hosted the 1999 Winter Asian Games, it's good for professional skiing, but also has gentler slopes for beginners.
It takes 3 to 4 hours to hike up to the top of Balwangsan on foot, but only 20 minutes to get there via cable car. The peak is so high up that it's almost impossible to see the resort from the top. Once you're at the summit, there is a Korean restaurant, a Western-style restaurant, and a cafe.
