A superior-level motel organized around its pool, the Clarion has a quiet, pseudo-resort feel (it’s set away from the bustle of U.S. 192 but near enough to its restaurants) that makes it popular with scrimpers. All rooms come with a small fridge, microwave, and pullout sofa (hence the “suites” distinction of the hotel’s name), queen beds, and sleep up to six people. During the week, rooms facing the parking lot usually cost the least, and ones facing the landscaped, free-form courtyard pool cost $10 more. Prices on weekends are about $10 higher, and continental breakfast, with a few plusses such as waffles, is always included. Kids get excited when they look down its driveway and see the summit of Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom peeking over the trees nearby.
