Curvy-walled and cloistered, this 240-room hotel arrived on the scene in 2008 (as the Mona Lisa—her grinning image still greets guests in the lobby) and remains a peaceful, well-kept secret. Fittings are top-notch and modern, with fully equipped kitchens including full-size fridges plus dishwashers. Units also have a little patio, with a queen-size pullout to sleep more people. Protected by the hotel’s four curving buildings, a perfectly round vanishing-edge pool ringed with funky red pyramid umbrellas recalls South Beach style, lending the sensation of an upscale resort, so it’s not the best choice for rambunctious kids. Getting a pool view adds about $20. The location beside the jungle of U.S. 192 very near Disney is prime, but not a lot of people seem to know about it. The best prices are through its own website.
