Although this is a smallish corporate chain, it has local provenance: Darden, which owns it (along with the Olive Garden, and LongHorn Steakhouse), is based in Orlando, a 10-minute drive from this location. This concept is its most Floridian, which you will notice when you hear the live steel drums as you approach. Rum cocktails are served on the outdoor patio, and food includes burgers, Cuban sandwiches, rice bowls, Jamaican jerk chicken, coconut shrimp, and other filling quasi-island favorites. I’m all about the fish tacos and the spicy West Indies Chicken Curry made with coconut milk and served with naan and pineapple chutney, but for something mellower, a cup of black bean soup is just $4.
