Blå

By day a reasonably priced cafe for snacky lunches, decent beer, and a game of backgammon, by night Blå transforms into a favored hangout for Oslo's jazz, blues, and hip-hop aficionados. The venue has an industrial-chic vibe with graffiti strewn across the exterior walls and a rough-and-ready interior. Despite this, the waitstaff is super-friendly, stylish hordes flock here to grab a table overlooking the River Akerselva, and there is regular live music. In summer Blå also runs a buzzing open-air pub; it's about as far from the glitzy clubs playing Euro-pop in central Oslo as you'll get.
