Fauna
High-end dining at a very high price. Fauna is riding high on its Michelin star and is one of the most talked-about restaurants in Oslo at the moment. Amazingly, the service is every bit as accessible and friendly as it always has been, in a barely lit, zen-like dining room with an open kitchen at one end. Dishes incorporate lots of raw ingredients in true New Nordic style, all beautifully presented on fine china. Seasonal options might be lamb with Jerusalem artichoke purée, or skate served with lemony verbena sauce. The set menus come with or without clever wine pairings; there's a non-alcoholic choice as well. Reservations required.
