Theatercafeen
A slice of Oslo history in the opulent depths of the Hotel Continental, the Theatercafeen opened in 1900 and has been feeding and watering the great and good of Norway ever since. All dark wood paneling and banquette seating, with soft lighting and 80 pencil portraits of Oslo dignitaries hanging on the walls, the restaurant serves up a yummy afternoon tea (perfect for dark winter days) and a seasonally varied evening menu encompassing piles of oysters, Arctic char, and duck dishes. The arrival of executive chef Stig Drageide in August 2014 may see an Asian influence creep onto the menu as he has been working in the Far East for several years.
