The original Bon Ton opened in Ouray in the 1880s, and the St. Elmo Hotel named its very Victorian in-house eatery after the legendary spot. There is a regal air to the basement establishment, and a menu that veers between classic Continental and Italian. Main courses include steaks, pasta, and fresh fish, and there are a number of poultry dishes (Tuscan garlic chicken and chicken piccata, to name two) as well. Desserts are highlighted by the Black Nasty, a fudge pie with a graham-cracker crust.
