Grund Church
In the late-19th and early-20th centuries, most new Icelandic churches were simple structures with square belfries, sometimes elongated, and topped by a kind of narrow-brimmed hat. This curious 1905 church, atypically aligned north to south, has several Romanesque spires, an onion dome, and a balconied interior reminiscent of an opera house. It's also the largest Icelandic church financed by an individual. If the door is locked, knock at the grey house, not at the closest house.
