We highly recommend a visit to the Tenuta Vannulo, Via Galileo Galilei, Contrada Vannulo, Capaccio Scalo (tel. 0828-727894; www.vannulo.it), a buffalo farm producing magnificent mozzarella and other buffalo products. We confess, we really came here just to taste the gelato, which is famed to be among the best in Italy, and discovered a gourmet paradise. Antonio Palmieri's farm is certified organic, and he justly takes great pride in his operation: You can visit the premises, meet the buffalo, and taste the products, including the best mozzarella you can dream of. The Tenuta also has a few guest rooms where you can spend the night.
