How does the human brain grow and develop over the course of a lifetime? That’s the topic for the Cox’s fascinating “Journey Through the Human Brain” exhibit. It’s a 2,500 square foot wonder with 30 integrated displays, created at a cost of $2.5 million in tandem with a major, Palm Beach-based neurological research institute. It’s the centerpiece for this enlightening museum, which ranges across a number of scientific disciplines thanks to its state-of-the-art planetarium, a soon-to-be-massive aquarium (opening sometime in 2026), interactive galleries, and traveling exhibitions. There’s also an early childhood exhibit, a science lab, and a science-themed 18-hole miniature golf course designed by local legends Gary Nicklaus and Jim Fazio. Outside, the quarter mile-long Fisher Family Science Trail connects 15 exhibits, including a Physics Forest, FPL SolarScape, interactive splash pad, gem panning station and dinosaur walk. An open-air amphitheater features daily live science shows and trivia sessions.
