Palm Springs has many gay-oriented hotels and many of them are of iffy quality, but the Santiago brings class to the market. There aren't many rooms—just 23, on two sides around a private clothing-optional, misted pool—but they're up-to-date, freshly renovated, and the linens are high-quality. A 24-hour pantry keeps snacks and drinks flowing, and each morning, management takes a lunch order so guests don't have to leave the relaxation of the pool if they don't want to. It's not usually a party joint, just a comfortable and well-run place with modest landscaped grounds where people crash and escape in peace. It should probably go without saying that this property is intended to be a comfortable space for gay guests.
