If you're looking for unusual and collectible 20th-century item for your shelves, cabinets, or wrists, Dazzles is a find, and more than a few regular Palm Springs vacationers make it their first stop. Tucked into the courtyard of an unlikely midcentury apartment building that's all but abandoned (the swimming pool has been filled in), its rooms are stuffed from floor to ceiling with goodies, with a particular affection for the 1960s and 1970s. Costume jewelry, art glass, Bakelite treasures, one-of-a-kind dishes, and rewired rotary phones and appliances once your mom had in her kitchen—walk through twice, because you'll miss lot of stuff the first time. The owners know what collectors like (and don't charge too much for it), but call ahead, because they sometimes don't open if traffic is light.
