Though Panama doesn't grow nearly as much coffee as Costa Rica or neighboring Colombia, it does have some exceptional beans, particularly those from the Boquette area. This small roastery and café in a narrow colonial building is the Panama City home of the region's Elida Estate coffee, which includes the award-winning Café Geisha, one of the most prized and expensive coffees in the world (and not cheap here either). You can buy beans or just sample a cup, as well as more standard Panamanian coffees. They also serve very average light meals and fresh-baked croissants and pastries.
