Hotel Paracas

After the landmark Hotel Paracas was destroyed in the 2007 earthquake, luxe Peruvian chain Libertador, now a part of Starwood hotels, stepped in to turn the setting into one of Peru’s poshest resorts. Designed by renowned architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia, the Hotel Paracas might be the best place to stay in all of coastal Peru. The rooms are bright and cushy, with bamboo-covered walls and top-quality electronics, with suites adding a separate living area and balcony or terrace. The real magic happens outside, however, with dreamy daybed-lined pools, multiple restaurants, and a private pier where you can catch a boat to the Islas Ballestas. The 547-square-meter (5,888-sq.-ft.) spa is the region’s best, with VIP treatment rooms and a water circuit.
