The hotel Club Land’or is a bit run down at the moment, but the restaurant atop it—with views over the Atlantis yacht marina to one side and the Nassau harbor to the other—remains one of the best romantic dining spots in town.
There is friendly service, live jazz in the Oasis Lounge, and a small but superbly prepared choice of seafood: Grouper au gratin stuffed with shrimp, lobster, and scallops, lobster Thermidor, scampi “au lagoon” (sauteed in a mushroom and cream garlic butter sauce).
Despite the name, they also have a “turf” side of the menu, including pineapple-marinated chicken Eleuthera, and steak au poivre vert in a brandy and crushed green peppercorn sauce. The desserts are heavenly.
