AST bus (tel. 840-000323; www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it) runs the best network of buses from Palermo and Cefalú to Castelbuono and Collesano and is the best way to reach the area if you're not driving. From Palermo, five buses daily make the 2 1/4-hour journey. Trains from Palermo and Messina (tel. 892021; www.trenitalia.it) pull into the station at Cefalú and from here you can take one of the AST buses inland. If you're driving from Palermo or Catania take the A19 autostrada and exit at Scillato. From Messina, take the A20, exit at Scillato.
