At this relaxed bistro you are quite likely to find the chef and owner Christian Constant himself at the bar during his off hours. The restaurant serves a modern version of French comfort food like tangy poached cod with aioli, melt-in-your-mouth beef daube (stew) with carrots, or steak with shallots and creamy potato purée. While the low prices and great food are no longer a traveler’s secret (you might be sharing the dining room with Asian and American tourists), that’s no reason not to make the most of it: This is still one of the best deals in town. At lunch on weekdays, you can even get a two-course meal (chef’s choice) for 18€—a terrific deal for this level of quality. Reservations are not accepted.
