Shaw's attracts hordes of tourists in summer, and it's not hard to see why: This is one of the very best-situated lobster pounds on the coast, with postcard-perfect views of a working harbor. (It's so scenic that Hollywood filmed scenes of the Kevin Costner film Message in a Bottle here.) Eat on the open deck upstairs or in the indoor dining room -- I say, go for the deck -- or even order beer and shooters from the raw bar downstairs. This is one of very few lobster joints in Maine with a full liquor license, and the simple but meaty lobster rolls are considered among Maine's best by eaters in the know. A great, scenic find.
