Visitor Information -- The Pemberton Visitor Centre, Brockman Street, Pemberton, WA 6260 (tel. 1800/671 133 in Western Australia, or 08/9776 1133; www.pembertontourist.com.au), offers a free tour and accommodation booking service. It's open daily 9am to 5pm, except on December 25 and 26.

Getting Around -- Be aware that some of the roads are unsealed and can be narrow, slippery and steep in forest areas. Check your car hire restrictions. Sandy areas near the coast require four-wheel-drive.
