By Plane: Pereira’s Aeropuerto Internacional Matecaña (PEI) is located 4km (2 1/2 miles) from the city center. There are domestic flights from Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Cartagena with Avianca (www.avianca.com; via Bogotá), Aerolíneas de Antioquia (www.ada-aero.com), Copa (www.copaair.com; via Bogotá), LATAM (www.latam.com; via Bogotá), Easy Fly (www.easyfly.com.co), and Viva Colombia (www.vivacolombia.co). A taxi from the airport to town will cost around COP$7,000.
By Bus: The bus station Terminal de Transporte de Pereira (Calle 17 no. 23–157; tel. 6/315-2323) is less than 2km (5- to 10-min. bus/taxi ride, or you can safely walk there in around 20 min.), from the center of town. There are frequent bus connections (hourly at least) to Bogotá (9 hr.), Medellín (6 hr.), Manizales (75 min.), Armenia (1 hr.), and Salento (1 hr.). There are several services daily to Cali (4 hr.).
