Mama Flor

Just outside of town, Mama Flor is a big hit among locals who flock here for good honest cooking that won’t break the bank. With rustic wooden furnishings, colorful paintwork, and open-air terrace seating, it’s an atmospheric and inviting place to enjoy hunks of meats (filet, pork, chicken, and steak) a la parrilla (grilled) or doused with a creamy sauce, and served with the requisite Paisa trimmings; rice, beans, fried plantain, and salad. You can also taste earthy renditions of Antioquian classics including tripe soup and blood sausage. Meat lovers shouldn’t miss the signature dish: parrillada de carnes (a hearty mixed grill for two people, COP$55,000). There is a good range of cocktails, wine, and beer, as well as refreshingly fruity jugs of sangria.
