This is the area’s finest hotel, yet its prices are reasonable for the luxury it offers. Located in a suburb 4km (2.5 miles) from Perpignan, the Mediterranean-style dwelling is surrounded by gardens of orange and olive trees, mimosa, and eucalyptus. You can sunbathe in the gardens surrounding the pool and order drinks from the outside bar. The good-size guest rooms are spacious and soundproof, with stylish Art Deco interiors. All have king size beds and good bathrooms. The restaurant is reason enough to stay, using ingredients from regional suppliers (minutely detailed on the menu) for dishes like foie gras with smoked eel, salmon candied in citrus fruits and Orgues olives with pea mousse and duck stuffed with lobster with zucchini cannelloni. It’s open daily noon to 2pm and 8 to 11pm, with main courses from 36€ to 39€, and fixed-price menus at 55€ and 82€.
