Scandia House was founded in 1910, but it burned down in 1995 and has been entirely rebuilt to reflect the Norwegian styling and rosemailing accents so prevalent in Petersburg. Before you've had your morning coffee you might wake up here and wonder if you're in Alaska or Oslo. The 33 rooms are simple and airy, with lots of natural light, blond-wood trim, and comfy chairs. Some have jacuzzis. They’re also some of the cleanest accommodations I’ve ever seen. The owners offer car and boat rentals, as well.
