This American pub with amazing burgers and a tongue-in-cheek puppy theme threaded through the honky-tonk décor manages to feel like a worn old shoe of a place that's been here forever, despite the fact that it only opened in December 2003.
Just a block west of the Avenue of the Arts, Good Dog is my go-to spot for pre- or post-concert nosh. The wooden booths, great microbrews, and big-time jukebox are just background noise to a roquefort-stuffed burger with caramelized onions on brioche that’s the bomb. Also delicious: the three-cheese mac and cheese with its cornflake topping and blueberry cornbread on the side. Obviously, this is not the place to come if you're planning to stick to your diet.
