The Zuzu, located inside the Hotel Valley Ho, took over the retro torch when Trader Vic's closed down. Keeping with the vibe, it kept the kitsch, with modernist furnishings and updated round ceiling lamps. Even if you're not staying at the stylish hotel, the funky setting is worth a special stop. Brunch options are a standout here, and include the rightfully lauded Bloody Mary bar and a diet-blowing red velvet waffle with strawberries and cream. The rest of Zuzu's offerings are modern takes on the classic American menu—a red velvet waffle for breakfast, a turkey club with pesto mayo for lunch, and a flat-iron grilled steak salad are some of the menu offerings. A four-course chef's menu, which changes with the season, is available on select Mondays from 6:30pm. Every Wednesday, the lounge hosts wine tastings from 5-7pm.
