A truly special find, Ka Jok See is a smart and intimate European-styled venue set in an old Sino-Portuguese house. But what really sets it apart is the nightly dancing here, led by the friendly and fun-loving staff. The place has been here for years hiding mysteriously behind a façade dripping with ivy, and is patronized by well-heeled local professionals; it’s so well known, there is no sign (look for the small Kanasutra Indian restaurant next door). The friendly vibe of the place extends to the menu comprised of Thai dishes designed to share. Though its name means “stained glass,” the decor opts for ceilings of huge wooden beams, giant plants, and candlelight instead.
