The second venture of the trendsetting Habita Hotel group set the tone for the South Beach aesthetic that has overtaken Playa over the past decade. This small, adults-only hotel creates a cool sensation with its white geometric shape accented by horizontal wood railings and light blue day beds. Rooms wrap around the central pool and lounge area, which morphs into a trendy nightspot with its play of ever-changing colors. The multilingual staff is one of the friendliest in town, and the breezy, minimalist white-on-white rooms have unexpected touches such as random amenities (a banana, a straw hat) hanging from the ceiling. It all looks very restful—beds are quite comfortable—but don’t expect to get much of that rest until the partying in the lounge area wanes in the wee hours.
