Iguanazul Hotel
This intimate and isolated hotel has always had one of my favorite settings, on a high, flat bluff and steep grassy cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the north end of Playa Junquillal. The pretty, free-form pool is surrounded by tall palm trees. They’ve thankfully abandoned their short transformation into an all-inclusive resort. And new ownership has made good strides towards improving the decor and service, making the hotel almost as charming as the setting.
