As you descend the steep hill that leads into Montezuma, you’ll find this place on your right, just before the main crossroads of the village. Rooms here are clean and tidy, and feature Guatemalan woven bedspreads and either varnished wood or cool concrete block walls. A couple of the rooms have smooth, local river stones integrated into the masonry. Buildings are spread up the hillside, and some offer excellent views over town and out to the ocean. Rooms farthest from the road and reception require a bit of a steep hike, but the higher vantage point and better views are worth it. The hotel’s pool and Jacuzzi area is its best feature, built in two distinct tiers connected by a sculpted waterfall. The location provides easy access to town, yet still feels removed.
