Hotel La Aurora
You’ll see the stone columns and yellow archway entrance to this intimate budget option on your left as soon as you hit the town’s main crossroad. Spread over three floors, the rooms are not as comfortable as they could be, with low wooden beds, rather thin mattresses and some rooms lacking natural light. Still, rooms and common areas (including a much-used communal kitchen for the guests) are immaculate. On the top floor, you’ll find a two-bedroom apartment that enjoys just a hint of a sea view through the thick trees. Guests tend to gather in the several common areas, including the well-stocked lending library. Or you can grab a siesta in one of the shady hammocks hung around the hotel.
