Burned to the ground in early 2013, the Conchal was quickly rebuilt and is still better than ever a decade out from that disaster.  Rooms are spacious and feature sturdy steel bed frames, white linens and whitewashed walls offset with bright primary accents. Superior rooms come with large, flat-screen televisions and more space. Most rooms open on to a private or shared balcony or veranda fronting the small central pool and gardens. Despite its name, this hotel really should be considered part of Playa Brasilito, which is about 2 blocks away. Owners Simon and Hilda are delightful and very hands-on. Service is very attentive and personal, and the hotel's tropical fusion Papaya ★★ restaurant is one of the best in the area.
