This handsome resort is built around a massive pool (said to be the largest in Central America) and fronts a gorgeous but small patch of soft, white-sand beach. The rooms are ample and well-equipped, with fine dark-wood furnishings and red tile floors in a herringbone pattern. The bathrobes are some of the plushest you’ll ever fondle. Every room has a large balcony or patio, though some patios open onto heavily trafficked walkways (potted plants, palms, and bamboo have been placed to try to provide some privacy). The best rooms have ocean and sunset views. The various dining options include a semi-formal steakhouse and a contemporary Asian fusion restaurant. The hotel runs a regular shuttle to nearby Playa Langosta, where guests have access to a small beach club with a pool, showers, bathrooms, restaurant, and bar, as well as boogie- and surfboard rental.
