In the village of Kaštelir, 7km (4 miles) northwest of Poreč, this 18th-century house, complete with exposed stone walls and wooden beams, has been carefully renovated to make a small pension. There are four cozy rooms and apartments, each individually furnished with rustic antiques. The excellent restaurant serves a delicious breakfast, with fresh fruit, homemade croissants and pancakes, and eggs cooked to order. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner, the menu highlighting Istrian specialties made from the pension’s own farm produce.
