Portland Market House isn't a restaurant—it's more like an indoor food court. But it's not really an indoor food court—it's more like two-stories of indoor food trucks, if such a thing is possible. This small storefront right off Monument Square leads to a co-op of local eateries including everything from soups (at the memorably named Kamasouptra), sandwiches, and pizza, as well as fine cheeses, charcuterie, and wine. This is the place to go if you need to pack a picnic basket for a visit to one of the area's state parks, snacks for a day trip by ferry to a neighboring island, or a sandwich to stuff in your bag while out on a whale-watching excursion. Or, simply, if you just want to take some wine and cheese back to your hotel room. Don't let appearances fool you—just like with food trucks, it may not look like much, but there are some crazy good eats to be found here.
