Spain's Carris hotel chain chose Porto for their first venture into the back-backer market with this upscale hostel that opened in the summer of 2016. Occupying a traditional blue-tiled townhouse on the street leading out of Ribeira towards the Baixa, it offers a range of accommodations  from cool, modern suites with private bathrooms, to dorms for up to 13 people with extra-wide bunks and locker space for luggage. Dorms are either mixed or women only. All access chill-out lounges, computer rooms and a bar, each with playful furniture set among raw stone walls, wooden beams and the great arched basement ceiling.
