★★ PORTUGUESE[em]This unassuming little place, tucked in a side road behind São Bento station serves up the finest tripas à moda do Porto. Served in steaming pots, topped with slices of sausage, this is the real deal. The place takes its name from the fast trains that once pulled into São Bento from Lisbon. Other options include T-bone steaks from cattle raised in the highlands around the little town of Arouca (costeletas de vitela Arouquesa) or bacalhau à Gomes de Sá (salt cod with eggs and potatos). The decor was recently renovated and now features bold outsized photos of Porto scenes. Extensive wine list. Check the daily specials for bargain options.
