Panoramically and centrally positioned in the amphitheater of Positano town, this midsize hotel offers old-fashioned, eclectic charm with a heaping dose of sunny amalfitana hospitality. Guest rooms at the family-run Casa Albertina are cheerful and crisp, appointed with boldly colored bedding and window treatments that lend a sense of grandeur. The antique furnishings and fixtures can seem a bit on the formal side for casual Positano, but the effect is countered by the floors, which are clad in brightly colored Vietri tiles—so the whole effect just feels very Italian. All rooms have either a terrace or balcony with town and sea views. (Request the latter. You'll pay a bit more but the dramatic vistas are priceless). The bathrooms are lined with Vietri tiles and vary in size from quite generous to snug, and all are kept gleamingly clean. In fact, one of the standout features at this hotel is the upkeep property-wide. Despite some dated décor, Casa Albertina is immaculately maintained. The hotel also offers a lovely rooftop sun deck with bird's-eye views over Positano and the water. The genuinely warm and welcoming staff, too, make an indelible impression.
