Probably the most unique property in a town of unique properties, this house was originally built as a bungalow in 1904, high up on Gull Hill, which is on the far west end of Commercial Street. Subsequent owners turned it into a guest house and later an over-the-top valentine to Victoriana that straddled the line, and sometimes crossed over, into kitsch. The decor style has been upgraded and toned down, but some Victoriana remains. The tower rooms (there are three), which have 360-degree views of the Cape’s tip, are perhaps the most exceptional rooms on the Cape. It is a long walk into town from here. Consider renting a bike if you plan to make the trek often. Dogs are allowed in seven rooms.
