Sal’s, begun in 1962 by the artist Sal Del Deo, has been a standby in recent years for an old-fashioned Italian meal. But a new young chef/owner has taken over and freshened up the space and the menu—there’s now a Living Well menu section with healthier foods, for instance, as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free offerings. Traditional dishes, remain, though, such seafood Fra Diavolo, with fresh shellfish and fish in a spicy marinara broth. Seating is inside or outside on the deck, which has harbor views.
