Don’t plan on bringing the kids if you stay at this casino hotel. They’re not banned, but the atmosphere is clearly adult and the 10-minute walk to the beach is inconvenient, even though an underground walkway scoots beneath the busy highway. This hotel has had many incarnations and had become a frankly seedy tour bus stopover until its last renovation in 2009. Now it’s all glitz and glamour, with silver and gold trim on the walls and movie star portraits in the public areas. Rooms vary from tight doubles to larger doubles and suites, but most have balconies or terraces. Admission to the adjacent Marbella Casino is free for guests.
