Visitors and locals alike consider this bustling café the unofficial social club for the town. It’s right off the zocalo (town square), and it’s the place to go if you want to hear local gossip or find out about some of the area’s more hidden surfing beaches. Started by a local who raised the money for the restaurant by selling frozen bananas dipped in chocolate to the cruise passengers who debarked in Puerto Vallarta, it still sells those tasty treats, and is beloved for the quality of its breakfasts. Often, as you dine, local musicians will stop by to play, and Huichol Indians set up a stand or two near the tables to sell their crafts.
