On Tahaa

Except for Hotel Le Pirogue, Vahine Island Private Resort, and the superluxurious Le Taha'a Private Island & Spa, all out on islets by themselves, Tahaa's accommodations fall into the anything-but-luxurious pension category. This may change soon, however, since new high-end properties are planned for the motus out on the reef.

Stuck After Dark -- If you've been to Bora Bora, you'll know that hotel launches regularly ply between the motu resorts there, which means guests can easily get over to the main island for activities and dining. Such is not the case at Tahaa. Here, you cannot run over to the mainland from Hotel La Pirogue, La Taha'a Private Island & Spa, or Vahine Island Private Resort and save a few bucks on dinner. They are wonderful places to relax, but once you're out on one of Tahaa's motus, you are pretty much stuck out here after dark.
