Frommer's Staff

Housed in the wonderfully atmospheric 16th-century Casa Succi, this local favorite focuses on highly creative seasonal specialties and regional dishes. Begin with a typical plate of cold cuts and squaquerone, a delicate soft cheese popular in these parts, before moving on to the exquisite potato spaghetti with pistachio pesto. Main courses feature duck breast with port, cherries, and fresh spinach, and steaks drizzled with inventive toppings: zucchini jam, strawberry sauce, onion and chili jam, and Parmesan and truffle oil. Save room for the magical crema cotta, served with strawberries. The tavern in the basement offers cheaper meals and a publike atmosphere in the evenings.
