CityWalk

This upstart offers a daily 2-hour, tip-based “Historical Walking Tour” of Reykjavik. Operated by an amateur independent guide with a B.A. in history from the University of Iceland, the wheelchair-accessible route covers 2 kilometers in the oldest part of the city, mostly within the boundaries of Aðalstræti, Kirkjustræti, and Hafnarstræti streets. Tours depart from Austurvöllur square, usually between 10am and 3pm. The schedule is posted online 5 days in advance. Tours fill up, so making online reservations is essential. They also offer a pub crawl (2,500kr) and a tour of Iceland’s financial crisis (3,500kr).
